Operating since 1999 "The Appalachian Rose Nursery" is a family owned and operated nursery.  Started as an extension of our life-long love for roses, this "endeavor" has proven to be a very rewarding as well as a challenging experience.   A "typical" mom & pop industry, we have no intentions of outgrowing our small "family" size.
Located in the foothills of the Great Smoky  Mountains of East Tennessee, we're approximately 1 1/2 hours south of Knoxville, and the same northeast of Chattanooga,  TN.  One of the most beautiful areas in the world (in my humble opinion) the options for scenic touring in the area are many. There are some snapshots of local views in the area on the "Scenery" page!
We grow well in excess of 300 varieties, almost all of which are grown on-site.  Visitors are always welcome to come and visit, pick your own plants and generally enjoy the roses with us!
We always will try to help in any way possible with cultural, variety or other matters related to rose care. We always will try to help in any way possible with cultural, variety or other matters related to rose care.  We provide own-root, container grown roses to both individuals and business alike.  We feel in almost all cases an own-root rose will be a better quality plant over its' lifetime.  While this provides for generally smaller numbers of plants available to the customer, we feel most people will learn through trial to appreciate the higher quality an own-rooted rose allows.  Therefore as a small producer, this is the best route for us to take.  Be aware, due to our size we have neither the market, nor ability to provide our entire inventory, or large numbers of plants on a non-custom basis.  If needed, we are happy to custom propagate any of our plants, both for variety and for quantity.  More information is available under "ordering".

While we do "sell" roses here, our basis for doing so is to spread the appreciation for, and love of ALL roses - for which we are all so much the better!
