| This is
perhaps the most beautiful sport of Peace - the flowers being a beautiful
bright red and the reverse clear straw to yellow. Very upright in
growth, fairly typical in health and vigor. It's pretty much like the
original Peace in those respects. I've noticed the blooms tend to
blush and sunburn in the hot of the summer. The plant seems to grow
the best and the blooms look the best in spring and fall. We obtained
our mother plant of this variety from Canada so it seems to have escaped the
RMV most varieties had during the time period of its introduction.
We had it tested early on and it came up clean. However....... just to
show the inability to really KNOW, Flaming Peace showed signs of ring
necrotic a couple years later. For anyone no familiar with this
particular virus - it produces a very faint white or grey "ring" just inside
the border of the leaf. I don't know of any other guaranteed clean
sources for this one so I'll keep this one. Ring Necrotic is nowhere
as unsightly as RMV.
