| Bloom and growth is fast
and furious with this variety, almost to the point of being unstoppable!
This past spring (2003) our mother plants were under 5 feet of water for 36
hours. The day after the flood waters receded there were already
several blooms providing a show for us. Blooms continuously from early
Spring past frost. Knockout is as disease resistant as any we've seen.
It is drought and heat tolerant, treat it right and it'll knock its' self
out trying to please you. Humidity has no effect on the plant....blackspot
and mildew doesn't exist on this plant, even when planted next to
water! It's only shortcoming is a tendency to leafspot during the
winter months, not reall its' fault. Fresh spring growth does not
continue the spotting so it's easily handled with judicious trimming. If not
the best shrub type rose presently on the market, it's definitely very close
to the top! Planted in groups of five or more Knockout is an eye
stopper, continually attracting peoples attention here all the way from the
road!
