| With Knock
Out as a pollen parent I was skeptical to think it would be as good
but.... It's better in most ways that will be important to most folks.
While no better than Knockout against the majority of fungus diseases, Home
Run is not bothered in the least by Powdery Mildew!. Combine
this with a deeper red and a more polite habit - Weeks has another winner.
Given the size of my test plants after one years growth I expect Home Run to
mature somewhere in the vicinity of 3 feet tall. I've yet to plant
this variety in the ground so I'll reserve final opinion. Bloom is
steady and continuous under most circumstances. I had heard early
reports that it might like to be dead-headed but, I've not found this
necessary.
