| We have not grown
this one to maturity here so only have preliminary opinions on some traits.
We have this rose growing from Southern Kentucky to tropical islands off
Florida and in all cases so far it's doing very well.
A hybrid of the great southern rose R. banksiae
lutescens and the rose Tom Thumb this rose, also known as The Pearl repeats.
The reputation of this rose is it makes a great rose for the one you want
growing over a shed or other typical rambler duties. The rabbits
ate our plant the first year so thus far it's only grown to the 6-7 foot
range for us the second. (Update-it's now 3 growing seasons old and is
passing the 12 ft. mark in all directions. Wonderfully prolific with
bushy, well leafed canes. Given that the banksiae varieties live for
decades, growing the whole time I wouldn't be surprised to see slow
progressive growth out of this plant for many years to come.
The foliage is leathery - dainty and very pretty!
It seems to be well branched. Blooms are purest white, delicate in
appearance and Fragrant. Born in increasing clusters as the plant gets
older they eventually become clusters of 40 - 50 blooms.
